Beer or Weed?

This is a very interesting match-up. Both beer and weed have their benefits and drawbacks and most of the time it just comes down to personal preference and the situation you find yourself in. As I love both of these substances so very much, I am torn, and refuse to choose one over the other. So, I will list the pros and cons of each and let the readers decide.

Okay, so let's start with beer.

Whether it's malt liquor in a 40-ounce or a cool ale in cans and 12-ounce bottles, beer is very dear. And here's why:

Pros

- Beer is cheaper. A forty of OE goes for $2.99 where I'm from as opposed to $15 for a gram of chronic.

- Beer is always readily available. All grocery and convenience stores sell beer, so if you really wanted some you could just jack it from a store. It is far more difficult and dangerous to try to steal weed from a drug dealer.

- It lowers your inhibitions and makes you more confident.

- Cold beer is very refreshing after a hard days work

- Beer raises your pain threshold. I always make sure to drink a 40 or two before skating anything too big or difficult.

Cons
- Having to go piss every 5 minutes

- A lot of booze encourages reckless driving and D.U.I's suck!

- If you drink too much you become belligerent and eventually pass out.

On to cannabis! Whether it's dank or reggie, reefer rules! Some people (like myself), just love smoking blunts all day. Other people buy beautiful and expensive glass works to smoke their bud. Regardless of method of use, I think we can all agree that cannibas sativa, is one of the most amazing plants on the planet.

Hand full of OG Kush!

Pros

- THC opens your mind to different ways of thinking and perceiving the world.

- There are hundreds of different strains that induce different highs. Depending on the percentage ratio of Indica and Sativa, the strain could produce a mellow, euphoric high or an energetic, lively high.

- Martin Luther King Jr., once said "One has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws". I think this is very relevant to today's outrageous drug policies.

- All senses are heightened. Most notably, food tastes more delicious and music sounds amazing.

Cons

- Chronic use of chronic can become very expensive. If you only buy a gram everyday for a week, that's $105.

- Cottonmouth. I hate that shit!

- I've found that some people have a tendency to be way more lazy when they're high. This isn't the case for me but I've seen it often enough to mention it.

- It's illegal. You can actually go to jail for having a nickel-bag in your pocket in this country (most states anyway).

The Leak

Lil Waynes new EP, The Leak, features leaked material that was meant to be used on the upcoming album The Carter III. It consists of five songs and is downloadable through itunes, Rhapsody, and Zune Marketplace. I will be listing the songs with a brief review following each one.

1. I'm Me

This track was produce by DJ Lil with help from Weezy himself. The fact that he contributed to the beat is fitting as this song is probably his most egoistic one to date. The song starts with sample verses from "Go DJ" which makes a reprise at the end. The first verse gets right into clever puns and a witty metaphors comparing the rap game and Britney Spears. Overall great song.

2.Gossip

This is the single and definitely one of his best songs. Wayne premiered this song at the 2007 BET hip-hop awards and it was a notable performance. It's produced by StreetRunner and samples an adorable childs voice for the chorus though I'm not sure of the origin. My favorite verse is definitely the last one. The Youtube video for this song is displayed on the right-hand side of this page. Simply amazing track.

3.Kush

This was the first song to get leaked and I heard it long before The Leak came out. It's produced by Vaushaun Brooks a.k.a Maestro. It's a really chill song to smoke a blunt to or just cruising around town totally baked with your buddies. Best part:
"Buck forty on a ring that I don't really wear,
But I bet it light up the night like the city fair
This shit ain't fair, I didn't have to go there
But all this ice got me feelin' like a polar bear
I'm so aware, I'm so prepared,
I'm so high I'll take off into the open air"
Good shit.

4. Love Me or Hate Me

This song was produced by D. Kirkwood and I didn't really like it at first but then it sort of grew on me after giving it a few listens. The chorus sort of has the same vibe as "Hustler Musik" but the main part is pretty bare on beats, it's almost a capella. Good song though overall.

5. Talkin' About It

Produced by Infamous, this beat it pretty lively. It's an alright song but doesn't compare to the others. This is definitely my least favorite because the chorus is kinda whack.

All in all, The Leak is definitely worth the $3.99 price tag from itunes. If you have a chance, get it. And if you have any comments on my review or wish to add anything please do so in the comments section. I would love to hear from Weazy fans and haters alike.

The Gear: Outfit I

So, in order for me to achieve krispyness I need to be on some new shit. I have to have that brand new glow about me. For this ensemble, the color scheme will be black and turquoise.Let's start from the feet up.

Socks- This is sometimes overlooked as part of an outfit but it's the details that count, remember. The Manchester socks by Lakai are fresher than fresh. I'd go with blue or black.

Underoos- The Krew Boxxer boxers

Next, one of the most important aspects of an ensemble. The shoes. This is your base, the things you stand on. It's also important in dating, as women gather a lot about a man from the kind of shoes he's wearing. For this particular outfit I have going here, I would continue with the skateboarding/Lakai theme and go with the Telfords, Black with a Turquoise accent. Also the more rare Telford Neux Dominion would fit the color scheme well.

Next up, Jeans. You really can't go wrong with the Krew K Slims. Some people aren't comfortable wearing tighter jeans so what I do is get a few sizes bigger and wear a belt. It looks dope, trust me.

Belt- Keep those K Slims on while staying icey all at the same time with this Krew Ice Belt.
Shirtage- You gotta have a fly tee on. There are three excellent t-shirts that will go great with this outfit. The DGK City White Tee, Krew Coocha Turquoise Tee, and Krew Croc Logo.

This next peice of attire holds this outfit together. It's like the chassis of a car. A jacket is important to keep you and your boo warm in cold climates. So I offer the Krew Croc Jacket in black and turquoise.

Watch- One of these babies comes in handy to help you stay on top of things, it's also very classy to have a watch. Nixon sells this Swiss made timepeice for $1300, so if you own one, you know your a baller.

The Nixon Ceramic Player watch. In black to match the outfit.

Hat- And to top it all off, a nice new era or flex-fit by Lakai or Krew.

Please leave a comment and tell me what you think about this style of attire.

Krispyness-Definition

I define krispyness as a state of being fresh, cool, and confident because of ones outer appearance. For me, it's a sense of style influenced by a dynamic mix of youth culture that ties pure skateboarder style with the swagger of hip-hop. It's a state of mind and an emotion. It's about feeling in the moment and that everything is just as it should be.

My future blogs will involve going deeper into to what krispyness means to me. I will illustrate how I enter into this state of mind. I will be discussing the clothing, music, and substance that facilitates krispyness.

Everyone has a unique swagger and style. I would love to hear how others turn on their krispyness and what brands, music etc, get them their.
